Hello again. How you doing? I feel like I’ve been away for ages, but it’s just been a few weeks, while I’ve been enjoying my new marital status as Mrs Weebl, which so far has been wicked fun. But now, the serious work. Mr Weebl has asked if I could do a weekly film review. Why not? So I decided to leg it down to the cinema, and see whatever was on first. This week, it was Shooter. So here we go.

It’s not often that I come out of the cinema feeling like a giggly schoolgirl. I’m not massively sure that that was the affect that Frank Miller was aiming for when he based his graphic novel 300 on the ancient battle of Thermopylae. I think he was going for a more action packed story of the underdog fighting with honour and valour against a ruthless and bullying agitator who wants to enslave mankind and pierce his face a lot. But, in fairness to myself, there are an awful lot of torsos on show. I’m all for people being comfortable when they’re fighting off Persian hordes, but doing it in leather pants, however enticing, seems unnecessarily dangerous.

Okay. The Oscar winners this year were pretty dull, and besides, I didn’t see it anyway ‘cos I’ve moved in with my girlfriend and she doesn’t have Sky.

But I DID see The Oscars last year, and that’s good enough for me! So, ladies and gentlemen, pray silence for my approximately-13-months-late review of:
